Air Canada, why are you so hateful?

More preparatory challenges. Val was in charge of calling our airlines to confirm that we were good to go. She called Japan Air for the two long legs of our flight, Vancouver to Japan and Japan to Bangkok. They were pleasant and helpful and told Val that we were confirmed and there will be no problems. Then she called Air Canada (I wish I knew the 'Seinfeld greets Newman' font - Air Canada). We are going to be on the Air Canada flight for exactly 22 minutes. Val had our booking number, our e-ticket confirmation number, our names, birthdays, flight numbers and times, aircraft numbers, everything that was written on the stuff we were sent but alas, that is not enough to deter Air Canada from creating another highly unsatisfied customer with a sharp stonewall to the shin. They informed Val that they could not possibly give her any information about her ticket or flight since she is clearly a terrorist trying to obtain classified info in order to bring down the plane and civilized western society with it (that's a paraphrase but I'm sure that is what they meant). Apparently, there is a secret Air Canada code that one needs in order to fly with them. But they don't give it out. Gee, I wonder why they are having trouble filling their planes. Anyway, I called Flight Network (our online travel agent) and another helpful person who doesn't work for Air Canada gave us our code and Val is going to call them and hurl insults today. But Flight Network guy said we are booked and confirmed and he while he didn't say it, he definitely sounded like he hates Air Canada too. There is a certain 'I hate Air Canada' tone all Canadians take when discussing our revered national airline. Just to show them, I am going to take TWO hard candies when the basket goes around. It will probably put them into bankruptcy - Take THAT Air Canada! HaHa! I would take a second juice but it would probably prompt a tax fueled bailout and cost me in the long run.
